About Me and my life, Barbara Lou Poppell info.
Barbara comes from a family of Adirondack artists and carries on that tradtion. Her father Wallace Crispin was a prolific painter of local landscapes capturing the flavor and subtle nuances of the Adirondacks. This instilled a great love for not only the Adirondacks wilderness but capturing it on canvas. Barbara and her father could be found in various locations in the Adirondacks painting and sketching together. They also displayed their artwork at many local art shows over the years. Barbara was also mentored by Paul Bransom, a family friend. Bransom was a well known animal artist and illustrator. He illustrated "Call Of The Wild", by Jack Lundon. Paul Bransom art is in the Smithsonian. Barbara also studied with Gunter Korus. Also Barbara has other Paintings under the last name of "Briggs" and "landsberg".
Interestingly, Barbara has influenced her husband, Joseph, to try his hand at painting and he is becoming a good artist as well. Additionally, at least one of Barbara's grandchildren has inherited the flair for artistry.
Most of Barbara's works are currently displayed in the homes of family and friends. Recently she has decided to share her talent with the public. So please enjoy Barbara's beautiful paintings that capture the essence and spirit of the Adirondacks and beyond!
